Look at me for a second, will you? Of course, every man wants to look attractive. He wants to look handsome in front of the public. Who does not wants to get compliments?

In my opinion, weird is used to describe a person or a situation that is different in a bad way. And my purpose of using “weird” here is to demonstrate the feeling of the general public when they see a man standing or sitting or maybe walking with a bad posture.

  • Your Shoulders are bent downwards
  • Back is also pushed down
  • Chest is inwards
  • And maybe your lower back is also not in the correct position

And while you are sitting, maybe,

  • Your Neck + head is pushed forward a little too much
  • Your Back is making a curve
  • Shoulders are also not in the correct position and the same goes for your chest as well

Now imagine yourself or some other dude in the same exact posture that we just talked about… What will be your thoughts about him?

I don’t know about the exact thoughts of yours but I am 100% sure that you won’t consider him stunning and for sure you won’t label him the most attractive guy in the room.

Now put yourself in this same exact scenario. So what are your thoughts about this whole thing now? Do you think you are the most attractive dude in the room?

Look, I know that you take care of yourself and your dressing is on point as well, However, you are obviously less attractive than a dude who is attractive in general and has a good posture too. Keep that in your mind.

Ok, so although you’ve covered a lot of what it takes to become attractive, at the end of the day, your posture… Yes, my friend, it looks weird.

You want to stand out from the crowd (13 Things Guys Wear that Make them Stand Out From the Crowd) and I understand that. However, trust me, you just can’t do that. It is not possible especially when you are sitting, standing, or walking around with THAT posture.

This posture of yours is making you 10 times less attractive. Do you want to know who is the main character in the room? It is that person who:

  • Dresses perfectly
  • Looks good (skin & hair both taken care off)
  • Takes care of his grooming
  • Has a good posture

You’ve taken care of the 3 components of the secret formula to becoming the star of the room. But that 4th one, you ignored it, and just because of that, you are unable to rank yourself on top of the list.

Trust me! You have what it takes to stay on top for a very long time. But again, for that to happen, you got to fix this bad posture of yours. Otherwise, Nah. It ain’t going to happen anytime sooner.

We all by now know the importance of having a good night sleep.

Posture also influences respiration, (read: the way you breathe), which definitely plays a key role in sleep quality. For instance, habitually leaning forward in a rounded position throughout the day can impact your lungs and breathing, as everything is crunched together, says Duma.

“When breathing is impaired, so is the oxygen capacity delivered to your brain,” affecting not just your daytime energy levels but also your sleep quality, later on, explains Duma. “Shallow breathing can be a contributor to anxiety and can affect the capacity to fall asleep and stay asleep,” she says.

So now we know that having a bad posture in the day has a lot to do with how your sleeping quality is going to be at night. You will be struggling to find a comfortable position to sleep in, and you will be shifting sides and this entire thing will take hours. Hence, your overall sleep time and quality as well get affected because of this bad posture.

Some tips to Improve your Sleep Quality & Quantity

The first and foremost thing is to work on your posture (will talk about that at the end of this article). Once that is taken care of, the following are a few recommendations/things that you need to keep in mind if you really want to sleep like a baby and wake up like a superhero.

  • Increase Bright Light Exposure During the Day (Sun Light)
  • Make a Routine. Sleep at 10, Wake-up at 5 (etc)
  • Put away your Cell phone and Laptop in the evening
  • Turn off All the Lights
  • Sleep in a Quiet Place
  • Lower the Temperature to Sleep Like a Baby
  • Shower Before Going to Bed (An hour before)
  • Check your Mattress. Make sure that your Pillows, Bed, and Mattress are Comfortable

  • Don’t Consume Caffeine Late in the day because the caffeine helps you wake up which means that it won’t let you sleep properly at Night. Hence, avoid caffeine in the evening or at night time.
  • Increase Bright Light Exposure during the Day and Reduce the Blue Light exposure in the evening / Night. Put your phone aside and don’t use it when the Lights of your room are switched off. Using a phone in the dark is gonna hurt your eyesight plus it is eating your Sleep time as well. 
  • You must put all of your Digital devices away at least 30 minutes before going to bed… I recommend that you put your Phone on a Table that is far away from your bed because I know that sometimes you want to grab your Cellphone again and again… But if you place it far away then you will have to get up and reach the table to grab your cellphone… Getting up is a resistance and a Barrier that is surely gonna Help.
  • Maintain Room Temperature at 60 – 67 Degree Fahrenheit because that’s considered to be the ideal temperature. Lowering your body’s temperate before going to bed is proven to give you a Baby sleep.
  • Make a Routine. Sleep at 10, Wake-up at 5 (etc)
  • Check your Mattress. Make sure that your Pillows, Bed, and Mattress are Comfortable

It has been told a million times on the internet that there is this quick trick that can help you increase your height up to 2 inches in just a day!

And what is that trick?

Stand Straight, Push your shoulders up & backward, and move your chest out. Thats it. Standing in this position (the correct posture), you will be able to look taller (up to 2 inches).

Is looking short a bad thing?

“Being Short” isn’t a bad thing. In fact, I have seen men who are short but they look so good that even the taller men look at them and ask them their secret.

But at the end of the day, when you make yourself look short just because of the posture then things become very weird. I mean, of course, if you are looking short just because of your posture then chances are such a weird posture is definitely making you look not only short but weird & ugly as well.

And for that reason, you must get rid of that. If adding 2 inches to your height is an add-on, then why not? I mean, it’s always a great idea to add some free inches to your height + looking better due to the change in the posture.

Bad Posture is linked to a bad mood, stress, and depression as well! Let’s talk about that now. Shall we?

Alright, so gentlemen, we’ve already talked about

These are the disadvantages of having a bad posture that we’ve discussed till now. But now let’s talk about your posture affecting your mood.

Good Posture is linked to good mood, high self-esteem, and less fear, and bad posture is linked to having a bad mood, low self-esteem, and more fear. And it has also been said in this study, that a bad mood can lead to depression and, not feeling better.

The study showed that people who sat in the slouched position exhibited low esteem and bad moods. However, these things were fine in those who sat in the correct position (good posture).

But How can a Bad posture affect the Stress Levels?

When you are standing, sitting, or walking with a bad posture (throughout the day), it kinda interrupts the regular body functions, hence resulting in less energy supply to your body.

Bad Posture causes stress both on your mind and your body as well.

So now you know that bad posture has a lot to do with your stress levels, mood, and with your self-esteem, and the level of fear plus depression as well.

And that (in my opinion) is one of the biggest reasons why you should learn to sit, stand, and walk properly.

Alright, so how many positive points do you have?

  • You are a presenter
  • Excellent debater
  • Communication Skill. Ah! You’ve got excellent communication skills

And the list goes on and on. However, what if I told you that this bad posture of yours is kind of shadowing your positive points?

People are cruel, so are their eyes. We’ve already discussed that people tend to make their own perspective about you and this perspective is based on your appearance and some personality traits as well.

That said, do you want people to not take you seriously? Put that on a side, Do you want them to make non-serious expressions or ignore your positive points, kinda degrading your plus points, hitting right where your confidence lives?

I am sure you don’t want to happen.

While researching and collecting points related to the article, I stumbled upon this video by Jeff at ATHLEAN-X, in which he discusses how to fix your posture in 4 Moves (permanently).

He says:

Muscle gains are almost impossible if you haven’t fixed your posture first


And it all makes sense. I mean, just look at your shoulders and the shape of the chest. You are already in pain due to this bad posture of yours. And then you are trying to these curls. Ahh, come on! You won’t be able to do the exercise properly. Guess what? this workout session of yours is going to bring negative results rather than doing any good to your body or attractiveness.

One of the ways your bad posture is making you less attractive is by affecting your workout results. If you won’t see any results then you might get demotivated or you might end up with a lot of pain in your joints (all due to your bad posture). And then result in you, not entering into the gym again, thinking that all of this is due to the exercise. But, Nah! It is actually due to your bad posture.

“One of the biggest things we see is people slouching. When you are slouching, not only does that push your head forward, roll your shoulders forward and give you a hunched back, it also makes you appear shorter and less confident,” she explains.

And that’s not all. If you work at a computer, you could be setting yourself up for a double chin.

“When your head is pushed forward it’s something we call an anterior head carriage when your head is no longer in line with the rest of your body, and that’s caused by too much time sitting, too much time hunched over a computer,” Egbogah says. “It pushes things forward so that it can actually cause the fat under your chin to be pushed forward and give you the appearance of a double chin, even if you aren’t overweight.”

Let me tell you something.

Having pain in your neck, shoulders, or back, due to this bad posture of yours is not a good thing physically. It is harmful to your mood, stress levels, and it does make you a lot less attractive.

But what if I told you that this pain changes your facial expressions, makes you less energetic which in itself makes you less attractive?

Constant Pain, Face Expressions that show that you are in pain or not so happy, lazy looks, and being less energy is a sign of unattractiveness. And it does affect your daily life for sure. It makes others think that you are somebody who is not so exciting. So it kinda makes you look unexciting.

  • Please don’t walk with your hands inside your Pocket. My God! Do you know how recessive and unconfident you look with your hands in your pocket while you are walking? I can’t even measure your level of recessiveness.
  • Your steps should be medium. Not too big, not too short. Just enough to showcase your sexiness.
  • Walk with confidence Gentlemen. Ok, think of yourself as a Confident Dude, One who is Sexy and perfect (I repeat, not proud but perfect). Yeah.. you see that smile, that shines in your eyes! Now walk while having that same feeling inside, THAT’S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!

I can assure you that if you are determined enough then you can definitely fix your posture in a month or two. But again, you got to stay consistent and follow all the steps and exercises, make them a part of your daily regimen. And when thats checked, nothing is going to stop you from having a great posture.

Alright, so let’s talk about some real action now. Let’s answer your question

All you need to do is to do some home-based exercises. Do these on the regular basis every single day if you want to improve your posture in the least amount of time.

3: Keep a Check on Yourself

And last but not least in the list of tips/ways to improve your posture is to keep a check on yourself.

Look, I know that you’ve worked a lot on your consistency, and trust me, it shows up. But at the end of the day, you got to keep a regular check on yourself.

What if I told you that you are consistent, however, you still sometimes forget about your posture and go back to your previous bad posture?

I am sure you’ve learned a lot but what if you forget about this new resolution of yours to improve your posture ASAP?

We got to do something about that!

I can think of 2 solutions. One is to have a mirror around you. It can be done in your office and home but what about, when you are outside in a meeting or in a party?

Well for that I recommend you to set a reminder which reminds you to “Stand straight, chest out (do that appropriately), shockers pushed backward)”. And also set a reminder to sit properly.

Both these reminders need to be set in a way that they keep bothering you several times throughout the day. You can of course decrease the amount once you start adapting this new posture of yours, as a habit. But until then, it’s ok to have them bother you throughout the entire day.
