Hey Guys! I hope you all are doing good. In today’s article, we are going to talk about the Morning routine aka morning rituals. Some of the things guys do on the regular basis in the morning, thinking that these things are healthy but in reality, they aren’t.

Before going into the negative part of the spectrum, I want to divert your attention towards the positive part. Not long ago, I had written an article talking about the Good points, things that you add into your morning routine to Look Good and Crush the Day. I highly recommend all of you to check those tips out once you are done reading this article.

So, what do you think you are doing wrong on the daily basis? (in the morning). We all have at least 1 bad morning habit that we want to eradicate from our life. And today’s article is all about that, covering all the negative habits/rituals that you need to eradicate from your life. So without any further ado, let’s get straight into the list. Shall we?

That’s it. This in front of you is the list of morning rituals/bad morning habits that ruin your entire day. So without any further ado, let’s get straight into each one of these to discuss them in detail now. Shall we?

1: Just 10 minutes more.

We all know about that temptation to spend 10 more minutes in bed. Sleep or awake, the temptation stays with us, no matter what.

Being lazy, and laying still is also very tempting sometimes.

So, how many has this happened to you? How many times have you snoozed the alarm clock or you’ve decided to stay still on the bed looking at the clock and said to yourself, “I will wake up after just 10 minutes”?

I am sure it would have happened a lot of times. Don’t worry, my friend, it happens to all of us. We all prove time and time again that we are super lazy.

But at the end of the day, this time that we are spending/wasting in this “Just 10 minutes more” thing is the time that you could have been spent in doing something productive.

I am sure there are a lot of things that you have to do on this particular day and there are a bunch of tasks that could have been done in the morning, that would have made the rest of your day a lot less hectic… But you choose to skip doing those tasks and lost it to the “Just 10 minutes more” temptation.

That’s bad, my friend. And I am sure because of this “Just 10 minutes more” temptation, you have already lost like 30 minutes or even more. I know that this might not sound much but for a person who had to complete the given tasks in a particular frame of time, this wasted time is a lot. And guess what? it isn’t just about these 30 something minutes, the guilt and the stress that we are going to have once we wake up will put us in a negative state of mind, which will automatically push the brain to function even slower.

In short, just because of this “Just 10 minutes more” temptation, you’ve successfully ruined almost your entire day.

2: Holding your mobile phone the first thing in the morning.

Let me ask you a question, may I?

What is the first thing that you do when you wake up? Oh please! Don’t tell me that you are thankful to God for giving you yet another day, and then you go straight to the washroom to wash your face or something.

I know what you’ve been doing these days. When you wake up, the first thing you do is to hold your phone and check your newsfeed.

Oh, come on, Boy! You should never start your day by checking your mobile phone and scrolling through some stupid app’s newsfeed.

What’s going to happen next is that you are going to get busy scrolling through the feed and the moment you are going to put the phone down, 45 minutes would have been passed already.

And now, my friend, you are left with very little to no time in your hands. What are you going to do next? You are obviously going to rush to the bathroom and get ready to go to work. These 45 minutes that you wasted could have been for something productive but Alas, you preferred scrolling through the feed instead.

3: Not drinking a good amount of water

The next one in the list of Morning Rituals guys do that ruin their entire day/Bad Morning Habits that can ruin a day is, “Not drinking a good amount of water”.

You are a young man who understands the importance of drinking 5-6 liters of water every single day. You know that drinking a good amount of water on a daily basis helps you get better skin, hair, health, and whatnot.

But unfortunately, you choose to drink coffee the first thing in the morning and then you have your breakfast followed by getting reading to go to work.

Look, I am not saying that Coffee is bad or something (I will cover this topic in some other article), but what can surely be said is that drinking water before coffee, the first thing in the morning is definitely going to bring a lot of benefits!

My favorite benefit out of all is that once you already know that you have drunk a good amount of water in the morning, you will be able to drink even more water throughout the day! Healthy starts promote a healthy ending. But instead, if you haven’t even started drinking water, chances are that you end up getting demotivated throughout the day, leading to drinking little to no water throughout the day.

So yeah, it is highly recommended to drink water in the morning as it will make you feel good inside out, and surely it will help promote a healthy lifestyle, preventing you from ruining your entire day.

4: Skipping the breakfast – Prepare your meals the night before.

Hmm.. So you decided to skip your breakfast because you are not feeling it.

Chances are you are being lazy and you don’t want to get up and prepare your first meal of the day. Ok, I can feel you. It happens to the best of us, too.

But not anymore. Yeah, the best of us, have now cracked the code. They already know that in order to avoid the urge to skip breakfast due to laziness, they need to prepare their meal, the night before!

By doing that you are going to cater to the urge of being lazy and not preparing something for yourself, while still having the meal ready!

Ok, so the meal is ready but you aren’t feeling it, no matter what. You just don’t want to eat breakfast. Hmm… Let me tell you something, there are a lot of benefits of eating a good healthy breakfast. Following a few to write down.

  • Eating a healthy breakfast boosts you to eat healthy for the rest of the day as well.
  • Breakfast is a very important meal of the day, sort of pushing you forward, pumping energy in your body to kickstart your day with fullness.
  • When you start your day without having a healthy breakfast, the chances of you eating unhealthy food (after losing it to your urge to eat something and then choosing to go for something unhealthy), increases. And most of the time you are going to end up eating something unhealthy later in the day.

So don’t skip the breakfast if you do not want to ruin your entire day!

5: Making too many decisions.

The next thing in the list of “Morning Rituals guys do that ruin their entire day/Bad Morning Habits that can ruin a day” is “Making too many decisions”.

  • What am I going to wear today?
  • What should I eat for the breakfast?
  • How should I react to “Y’s” statement?

etc. So you make too many decisions, hah? Chances are that you are always thinking about what you are going to do later in the day…

Maybe you are busy thinking about random things and you always choose to make decisions in the morning. But let me tell you something, this decision of yours to make all the decisions in the morning is the reason why you are always feeling tired throughout the entire day. You have already wasted a lot of your energy and brainpower and now you are left with nothing.

Do you want to feel less energetic for the rest of your day? I am sure you don’t want to say “Yes” to this question. If that’s the case then you should definitely be making lesser decisions in the morning. Make all of your plans the night before or maybe make plans for the next 3-4 days. By doing that you are going to put a lot less stress on your brain plus everything will go smoothly as planned.

6: Falling for a nighttime shower instead.

So you love to shower at night, hah?

That’s alright. Maybe you love to wash off all the chemicals from your hair and yes for sure showering at night helps you in getting a sound sleep.

But may I ask you a question? Why are you using that nighttime shower, a reason not to shower in the morning before going to work?

Oh, so one of the reasons why you shower the night before is you not having to take a shower in the morning? That’s bad. Why? Because, Hey! Taking shower in the morning helps you get a woke mind frame.

Otherwise, you are going to be feeling lazy and drowsy throughout the entire day. I am sure you don’t want that to happen. In short, just by not being willing to take a shower in the morning, you can potentially end up ruining your entire day! You don’t want that to happen, do you?

7: Rushing to your plans.

The next one in the list of Morning Rituals guys do that ruin their entire day/Bad Morning Habits that can ruin a day is, “Rushing to your plans”.

I am so proud of you for making plans for the entire day the night before or like 1-2 nights before. That’s great. But wait a minute.

What is this that you are doing? You are rushing to the plans of the day but guess what? You’ve skipped one of the most crucial things!

Look at your bed for a second, will you? Everything is just so messed up. You need to fix this up first. Gentlemen! You need to be a little more organized in your lives. And it all starts with taking care of your bed, and the room, as well. Start by making your bed, putting everything in its place, and then clean up your entire room as well.

In fact, your plans for the day must have this as well because, in order to stay organized for the rest of the day, you must start your day by making sure that your sleeping place is completely organized. This isn’t going to just help you have a good start to the day but it will also make your mood better once you are back home super tired. You won’t have to make up your bed at the night and that feeling of happiness is going to help you get better sleep!

8: Waking up tired.

Speaking of better sleep, I have a lot to say to you regarding that. But let’s start off by stating the importance of a good night’s sleep!

Guys! You want to wake up super fresh. Right? Guess what? When you wake up super fresh, the entire day of yours is going to be good. But how to wake up and feel fresh?

For that, you need to focus on your sleep cycle. Sleep early, my friend. I want you to complete the 7-8 hours of the sleep cycle. And just by doing that you are going to end up feeling super fresh in the morning.

Not just the quantity, but the quality matters too. Following are a bunch of tips to help you get better sleep:

  • Don’t Consume Caffeine Late in the day because the caffeine helps you wake up which means that it won’t let you sleep properly at Night. Hence, avoid caffeine in the evening or at night time.
  • Increase Bright Light Exposure during the Day and Reduce the Blue Light exposure in the evening / Night. Put your phone aside and don’t use it when the Lights of your room are switched off. Using a phone in the dark is gonna hurt your eyesight plus it is eating your Sleep time as well. 
  • You must put all of your Digital devices away at least 30 minutes before going to bed… I recommend that you put your Phone on a Table far away from your bed because I know that sometimes you want to grab your Cellphone again and again… But if you place it far away, you will have to get up and reach the table to grab your cellphone… Getting up is a resistance and a Barrier that is surely gonna Help.
  • Maintain Room Temperature at 60 – 67 Degree Fahrenheit because that’s considered to be the ideal temperature. Lowering your body’s temperate before going to bed is proven to give you a Baby sleep.
  • Make a Routine. Sleep at 10, Wake-up at 5 (etc)
  • Check your Mattress. Make sure that your Pillows, Bed, and Mattress are Comfortable.

9: Not having a Morning routine.

Do you want to know what’s the importance of planning? It helps reduce stress and makes you work like a robot without having to think much. That helps especially when you don’t want to get drained.

So have you planned your morning routine?

What? You still haven’t got anything planned against your morning routine? Oh, come on now. Everybody out there is talking about morning routines and their importance in your life and you still haven’t done anything regarding that?

So you are one of those guys who do healthy things on the regular basis. One healthy thing a day and some other healthy thing the other day…

Well’s that’s ok I guess but again, you are forgetting the main point here. The main thing to cover is to have a routine already set up. A routine that is already planned is going to promote less thinking and more action taking. And that’s exactly what we are trying to do in today’s article (Automate things).

10: Watching Porn.

.You are addicted to watching porn. Right?

Let me tell you something, watching porn is one of the most dangerous addictions as it promotes a lot of bad things, first and foremost being the fact that it is an addiction. And every addiction is bad as it makes you weaker. When you are done watching porn, you feel guilty and depressed.

Starting off your day with something that makes you feel guilty afterward is bad for the rest of your day. You feel drowsy, tired, less confident, demotivated, etc. And you are also going to notice everything going in the negative direction because we all know that a good mood attracts good happenings.

11: Not recalling the positive things.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times before as well that the importance of thinking about positive things when you wake up is unmatched. You want to feel good for the rest of your day. Right? And I am sure that you want everything to go smoothly for the rest of your day. No?

If you really want to happen then you would have to make a habit of recalling all the positive things that you have in your life. You can start by thinking about something positive that you are planning to do later in the day. Maybe think about something that you can do, that can make you feel good.

Your main goal should be to end up feeling good! Once you add this single thing to your daily morning habits, you are going to see a lot of improvement in the entire day. Your productivity level is going to get better too, plus every task that you will perform will be more efficient!

12: Checking your messages and/or emails.

And last but not least probably one of the most important ones in the list of Morning Rituals guys do that ruin their entire day/Bad Morning Habits that can ruin a day, is “checking your messages and/or emails”.

Chances are that you are not holding your phone to scroll through your feed as we discussed in point number #2, but you are doing it to check if you’ve got something important or not. Maybe you want to check the notifications. Hey! Stop.

It is what it is. You are going to check the notifications and then you are going to end up spending a lot of time in that only. No matter how important it is, for sure it can wait some more time.
