Not actually, well, the topic of the day is actually the “mistakes that you are making when trying to get the body of your dreams”. Chances are that you wanted to improve your physique. Maybe you want to look 10 times better and for that reason you are going to the gym, lifting weights, and doing other things that are necessary to change your body.
But at the end of the day, what if I told you that you are making a bunch of mistakes while trying to get ripped? What if I told you that I have got the reasons, the honest ones, due to which you are not able to get the body of your dreams?

Alright now, you want to know the mistakes that you are making while trying to get the body of your dreams. Right? So without any further ado, let’s hop straight to the list of reasons why most guys fail to obtain the body of their dreams. Shall we?

- You have got no clear idea.
- Your Diet isn’t according to your goals.
- You don’t stick to the diet plan long enough.
- You are overtraining.
- Phone Usage – You use your phone way too much!
- Your partner is the problem.
- You are training by yourself (No trainer).
- You are overexcited.
- Listening to every other dude.
- You make too many mistakes when it comes to following a diet plan.
- Your primary focus isn’t on your workout.
- Proper weights are the key… But you are unaware of this fact.
That’s it. Gentlemen! This is the list of reasons due to which you are not able to obtain the body of your dreams. So without any further ado, let’s get into each one of these and discuss them in detail now. Shall we?
1: You have got no clear idea.
It all starts by having a clear ideal body in your head. But, Nah, you don’t have such a thing in your mind.
Look, I understand that you want to get a better body. But what if I told you that everybody wants to get a better body, and along with that, they all know exactly what they want.
They aren’t like you who are unaware of what he really wants. The other day you told me that you want to get big. Cool. But yesterday you showed me a picture where this dude was looking shredded and he wasn’t big at all.
What actually is it that you want to become? Do you want to get big enough or do you want to have a shredded and lean body?
“I want to look good”.. Nah boy. This isn’t enough now. We are setting goals and while doing so, we need to make sure that our goals are crystal clear.
I want you to go back home and make up your mind. What kind of body do you want? Write down your answers and then compare all of them. And once you have 1 clear answer, come back and start working for it. With the proper goals, your actions will be more specific and you will be able to make better decisions accordingly.
2: Your Diet isn’t according to your goals.
So, you have been trying hard to get the body of your dreams but you are unable to do so. Right?
I guess I know the reason behind that. It is the diet plan that you are following.
“But Nyazi, I have been eating the exact same thing that Ali has been eating for so long and he is very satisfied by the results… Why am I not seeing the results though?”
It’s because your body structure is different from that of Ali. Chances are that the diet he is following matches perfectly with his body structure/type.
So what you need to takeaway is that:
- Everyone is built differently. So you need to get a proper diet plan based on your body structure and lifestyle.
- Do not follow blindly what a friend of yours suggests you. You never know about his body goals and plans. Chances are that he wants to stay lean and skinny but on the other hand, you want to get big and shredded. Following the diet plan that he suggests isn’t going to bring fruitful results for you in that case.
3: You don’t stick to the diet plan long enough.

Sticking to the diet plan that you’ve been given by the professional is very crucial.
Alright, so you are telling me that you’ve been following this diet plan for some while but you aren’t seeing the results that you had imagined in your head. Maybe you are getting bulky instead of seeing any good results in your muscle growth.
May I ask you a question? So, since when are you following this diet? Ahh.. 1 week. Great!
Guess what? You need to understand this thing very carefully. It’s that your diet plan wasn’t built to transform you into what you wanted to become in like a week or so. Everything good is going to happen to you, but gradually, slowly, and with the passage of time you will see the results that you want.
- Your goals are to get a good body. Right?
- Keep following this diet plan and keep hustling, lifting weights, and drinking plenty of water.
- With the passage of time, your body will start picking up. Things will adjust accordingly and the results will slowly begin to become more apparent.
4: You are overtraining.
Look, I am not a fitness expert, also I am not a guru that teaches you how to get shredded. But what I can say surely is that “Overtraining kills your motivation with the passage of time”.
I know that you want to see the results as quickly as possible. You have been planning to attend this marriage ceremony and you everybody to see the new you. Great! I also want that to happen.
But overtraining, lifting more weights than you should, going way too far every single day, are the things that will make the situation negative for you.
Let me explain.
What happens is that, when you overtrain, you end up getting tired and this makes you restless. It becomes harder for you to go to sleep. Fatigue is there too. Plus you end up getting mood swings, irritation, and anger becomes your partner.
As every day passed, you are going to see the situation getting worse and by the end, you will finally quit because a human being can only bear this torture for so long.
Do you want that to happen? Do you want to quit in the midway? If No is your answer to both of these questions then you should avoid training beyond a certain level.
5: Phone Usage – You use your phone way too much!
The next one in the list of Honest reasons most guys fail to obtain their dream body/Reasons most men fail to get a good body is your habit of using the phone.
Alright, I know that this thing has been discussed by every other person out there. But you seem to not follow the advice given by all of them.
But why? Why are you continue to use your phone while working out? I know that you are a super successful businessman but let me tell you something when you are at the gym, you are at the gym and nothing else should matter.
You are here to change the way you look. But on the other hand, you are continuously picking up your phone and replying to the messages, checking out your Instagram, seeing if anyone has followed you or not.
Stop this. You need to stop it ASAP. Gentlemen! getting involved in other activities while you are working out, increases the rest time plus you might end up losing your focus and dedication. That’s exactly what should not happen.
6: Your Partner is the Problem
Your partner is so freaking lazy.
Now don’t tell me that this isn’t the case. I have seen both of you working out in the gym and you guys were talking more and working out less.
In fact, even if you wanted to head over to the workout, this partner of yours would stop you and involve you in some other activity. Nah, this ain’t going to happen like that.
Let’s be real here. We all come to the gym to look good. Right? We are here to change our physique, to obtain our dream body. Right? But there you are standing along with your lazy partner who does nothing for himself plus stops you from making a progress too.
I recommend you to change your partner. Ok, I understand that it is hard if he is your friend. But you need to talk to him regarding this entire situation. You need to tell him that you are here to improve and to obtain your dream body.
He needs to know that you can’t waste this precious time. If he realizes his mistake then great, but he gets mad at you or laughs at your concerns then you already know what you need to do.
Switch your gym partner and this time I would recommend you to train by yourself. Yes, you can take instructions from the trainer but train alone without anyone supporting you. What? You have hired No trainer?
7: You are training by yourself (No trainer).
Oh, come on. So you are telling me that you are just getting started and you haven’t hired a trainer to help you get to your goals? Don’t do this to yourself.
I know that YouTube teaches you almost everything but you need a one-to-one session in the beginning. Your trainer will observe you doing all the exercises and he will correct all the mistakes that are possibly going to make since you are a beginner.
He is going to teach you about different ways to do a single exercise, the benefits of every particular exercise, etc. And all of this information is then going to help you obtain your dream body.
So always make sure that you hire a trainer to help you with the game angles and for your dietary needs as well.
8: You are overexcited.
Not just the overtraining but overexcitement is also a huge problem.
Alright, so let’s say you want to obtain the body of your dreams. Great. Everybody wants that. But you are different. You are the kind of person who gets into one thing to its fullest. Unfortunately, most of the time such kinds of people lose the charm of whatever it is that they were into, very soon. Right?
Your friend told me that you watch gym-related videos almost all the time. You are always watching these bodybuilders working out, lifting more and more, saying motivational stuff. Due to that, your watch time has also been increased a lot.
Stop this thing once and for all.
Your overexcitement will take away the charm and you are going to start hating the gym real soon. You will either make false expectations or you will get just bored of it, and quitting is what comes next to that.
- Start Slow.
- Don’t get too excited.
- Avoid watching gym-related videos and motivation stuff because such kind of content is addictive and it raises your expectations and dopamine levels to the sky.
- Overexcited gym freaks are mostly seen making stupid mistakes that involve eating way too much diet to gain that muscle super fast.
- Some are also seen lifting a lot more weight than they should, which leads to injuries and other related problems.
9: Listening to every other dude.
Ahhh.. These gym professors I tell you, they are everywhere!
I am talking about this guy at your gym. What is his name, hah? Yup, it’s Ahmed. I have seen messing things up. He goes to almost every dude and starts staying stuff like:
“Great. But there is a little mistake that you are making, due to which your biceps aren’t that shredded”, etc.
He says such things to people, starts a conversation and yeah, you already know what happens next… You forget about your workout and get involved in the useless conversation.
This needs to stop.
You need to stop him from interrupting you. And it isn’t about him only. You should not listen to any dude who isn’t a professional. Ok, even if he has a great body, still we never know about the reality. His body type, a diet that actually worked, etc, all of these things could be entirely different from those of yours. Plus your body structure and metabolism are entirely from him so listening to him and following his advice would be a foolish idea.

10: You make too many mistakes when it comes to following a diet plan.
Ok, so first of all I want to appreciate you for avoiding the mistake of following a generic diet plan. You have formulated a customized diet plan for yourself and that’s great.
But what is this that you are doing? You are ignoring this diet plan almost 2-3 times a week. And this isn’t going to bring good results.
You want to obtain your dream body. Right? Well, then why aren’t you following the diet plan that is going to lead to your dream shape. But instead of following the plan religiously, you are making a lot of mistakes.
I have seen you celebrating more cheat days and that’s bad too.
Look, guys, diet is a very important component no matter what your fitness goals are. Maybe you want to get big. Chances are that your goal is to get a better physique in general that makes you look good clothes-on. Great.
But in order to achieve your goals, you must follow a proper diet plan that has been assigned to you. Not following the plan properly and introducing as many cheat days/meals, as you can is what’s going to destroy the results. And I am sure you don’t want that to happen. Do you?
11: Your primary focus isn’t on your workout.
The next one in the list of Honest reasons most guys fail to obtain their dream body/Reasons most men fail to get a good body is that your primary focus isn’t on your workout.
Your goal for sure is to have a great body but I’ve been noticing that these days you aren’t actually focusing on the goal of yours as much as you should.
You go to the gym, start the workout, but then you get involved in random conversations. No matter what happens in the gym even if nobody else, but yourself will for sure be aware of whatever is going on.
Starting a discussion with the trainer for no reason, watching a movie in the gym, continuously changing going here and there just to meet people and stuff like that, is exactly what I am talking about.
Such activities need to be avoided and you need to understand that dreams body aren’t built like that. You need proper dedication, and consistency for that to happen.
12: Proper weights are the key… But you are unaware of this fact.
And last but not the least, probably one of the most important one in this list of Honest reasons most guys fail to obtain their dream body/Reasons most men fail to get a good body is wrong weights.
Let me tell you something, their isn’t anything as the right weight.
Ali could be lifting hard and heavy and his weights could be perfect. On the other hand, if this dude Aslam lifts not-so-heavy weights, he could be doing things perfectly as well.
The key is to master the control, perfect your angles, and then slowly increase the weights to the capacity that you think you can play around with.
Make sure that you do not increase the weights to the limits you can’t control them, because in such situations injuries happen and we can see tons of such videos on the internet (very hard to watch).
It’s all about mastering the movement and then picking up the right weights depending on your goals, and capacity. That’s perfect.
