Gentlemen! Testosterone is a man’s best friend, You know why? Because it helps make you a man, a manly man. I’ve already written an article about testosterone. In which I discussed 13 Proven Techniques that can help you to boost your Testosterone Levels. And you guys seem to love that article a lot. How do I know that? It’s because of the messages that you sent me. (If you have any queries or want to talk about any of the previously written articles. Feel free to DM me on my Instagram, @worldofnyazi). With that being said, another thing that bothered me and thanks to Aslam’s query, which was something like, “Hey Nyazi, You talked about the tactics to boost testosterone levels. That’s great but how would I know whether my testosterone levels are normal? Can you please tell me some signs of low testosterone in a man?”
Aslam’s Right! Before implementing those 13 Ways to Boost your Testosterone Levels, you must be aware of several signs. They will play a role as an indicating factor. Telling you that, Yoo, this is the right time to go get your test done from the laboratory and Yeah! Now is the time to take action or whatever you can do to boost your Testosterone Levels.
So I started doing my research on the topic, “Signs of Low Testosterone in a Man”. I searched YouTube and articles, discussed it with a doctor (A Friend of Mine). Finally, I am here with a list of “14 Signs of Low Testosterone Levels in a Man”. OK, so before moving on towards the article I want to tell you something. If you are in your late 30s or above then reduction in the number of testosterone levels is totally natural. You should not worry about it at all. But if you are under the age of 30, and experiencing these signs. You need to get your tests done because you for sure are lacking in the testosterone hormone.
Normal Range of Testosterone Level in a Man Under 30 is 250-1100 ng/dl
What? You are not interested in knowing about the signs that I am about to tell you? Great! I know why you are saying this. You don’t have enough time for all of this, Right? Ok, cool. It’s totally up to you whether you want to keep reading or not. But I request you to just go through the below-given functions. They are directly linked to your testosterone levels. And then you decide whether you want to know about the signs of low testosterone or not.
- Testosterone is Required to Produce Sperms (Low testosterone = Low Sperm Count)
- It Helps Testicles and Penis to get mature.
- Testosterone Affects a Man’s Sex Drive (Low Testosterone Levels = Low Sex Drive)
- It Affects your Competitive Spirit.
- Testosterone is Strongly linked to your Hair Health.
- Testosterone Helps your Body look Manly (Helps in the Muscle growth)
- Fat Stimulation is Also Affected by Testosterone.
- Testosterone keeps your Bones and Joints Strong.
- Low Testosterone May cause Diabetes
- Stunted Testosterone Levels result in Thyroid Problems.
- Low Testosterone Levels may cause Prostate Cancer.
- High Cholesterol has also a thing or two to do with Low Cholesterol.
And thats it. Yes, thats pretty much it. One single hormone is responsible for tons and tons of functions. What? Do you want to know about the signs of low testosterone now? Ahh! Great choice my friend! I knew you were smart enough and you just proved it right here. And with that being said, lets put everything aside and get right into today’s topic, “13 Signs of Low Testosterone in a Man (Under 30 Years Old)”.
1: Low Sex Drive
Guys, it is something nobody will argue on. Its that when you are young, you want to have sex with even a hole in the wall. It’s just how your hormones are when you are young. Ahh! What? You have suddenly started to experience a reduction in your sex drive? Nothing inside you tells you that “Billy Ahh, come on, feel these chills, get horny. Its time to raise your adrenaline up and feel horny. It’s the time to have that tempting feeling”. My Dude, you, unfortunately, have less amount of testosterone left in your hormone sack.
Low testosterone is one of the possible causes of low libido, however. If testosterone is lowered far enough, virtually all men will experience some decline in sex drive.
In a large study of men in Massachusetts, about 11% overall said they had a lack of sex drive. The researchers then tested all the men’s testosterone levels. About 28% of men with low testosterone had low libido.Source: Low Testosterone and Sex Drive (WebMD)
2: Your Wood isn’t that Hard Now
Yeah, I am talking about your penis. And yes I am talking about that not showing up when the attendance is called. As in the step number #1 of “Signs of Low Testosterone”, we discussed “Feeling Less Horny or Feeling Less Sex Drive”, same is the case with the number #2, But here we are talking about your sex organ. Guys, it’s all in the morning wood, the perfect indication of your testosterone levels.
Ok, let’s say you are a married dude who is just about to have sex with your wife. Great! But what isn’t great is the difficulty that you are facing to get your Tommy up. You really want to erect your penis but its too hard for you, Right? It is yet another sign of low testosterone level. What actually happens in the back end is that testosterone stimulates your penal tissues to form a nitric oxide which results in an erection and when testosterone is less in the equation then you already know that everything else is disturbed as well which means that you end up facing problems in waking your Tommy up.
3: Size of the Sack
I am not talking about winters when everybody’s sack is hugging the surface. The point that I want to clear up over here is that, You guys need to see for yourself, Ok, first of all, you need to get familiar with your testes. Come on, grab and feel them, not for the sake of masturbation but just to get an idea of whats your normal testes size. Done? Now notice the change in its size.
Most adult males have two testicles, and each typically measures around 4 x 3 x 2 centimeters (cm). However, testicle size can vary. It is also common to have one testicle that is smaller than the other.Source: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326432.php (Medical News Today)
Now see for yourself whether your testes are smaller than the average or optimal size or not. If they are smaller than the average size then you need to get your testosterone checked because less amount of testosterone is the main cause of the smaller testes. So Yeah.
4: Man Boobs
Next up in the list of “Signs of Low Testosterone in a Man” are, Those bOObies! Yeah, they aren’t for you, my friend. Let the women rock because they have been gifted with those mammary glands. Ok, So I know that some of you might come at me saying that “Yoo Nyazi, you are disrespecting us and the whole girl community as well” Cool Down! Just chill a little bit. Your diet and lack of exercise is another reason for you to get those man boobs, as I have talked about in 13 Brutally Simple Ways to Boost Your Testosterone Levels as well but hey, today its all the signs and symptoms only and if you are seeing an increase in the size of your chest then that’s what they call, “Gynecomastia”
Low testosterone levels in men can sometimes lead to a condition called gynecomastia, or the development of larger breasts. Testosterone is a naturally occurring hormone. It’s responsible for male physical features and also affects a man’s sex drive and mood. When there’s an imbalance of the body’s hormones in men, including testosterone, gynecomastia can develop.Source: https://www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/male-breasts-gynecomastia (Healthline)
5: Muscle Mass
Ok, so picture this, you haven’t changed your diet or exercise but suddenly due to some unknown reason you have started to experience muscle loss. You are putting the same amount of work, lifting the same amount of weights, even more, to get good results, taking your diet correct, you have even changed your exercise as well just in case, but you aren’t seeing any results, in fact, the already present muscle mass is like kinda burning and destroying which has made you very worried about what’s going on.
It’s Ok, relax. Oh, Come On! You are not supposed to put everything on the fact that you are an ectomorph, I mean, you were putting on enough amount of muscle and you were seeing an improvement before. Everything started going down suddenly, right? In the past couple of days/weeks. Don’t worry, you are doing everything fine, the only thing which is causing all this is, “Your testosterone levels”. What? Let me explain.
Testosterone increases neurotransmitters which encourage tissue growth, Ok? And it also interacts with nuclear receptors found in the DNA, which results in protein synthesis. Testosterone increases the level of growth hormone that makes exercise more likely to show results in the form of building more muscle mass. In short, if you are doing everything just fine but you feel like not getting the amount of muscle that you should have on your body already by now then its one of the clear signs of low testosterone in a man.
It’s just about that sexy deep voice and sexy facial hair only. Guess what? Testosterone is not like your optional virtue which if exists then gives you benefits and if not then it won’t do much harm. Guys! You will see tons of negative things going on in your body if your testosterone levels are low than a specific level. And one of those negative things includes, “Chubbiness” and “Gaining Weight”.
Guys, if you are experiencing a sudden weight gain, where you are eating the same amount of food which you used to eat before and you are doing the same amount of exercise as well, you are doing cardio as well. In short, you haven’t changed any aspect of your lifestyle but still, due to some reason, you have started gaining weight. You know what? it’s not your fault, it’s all because of the lack of testosterone levels in your body. Why? EverydayHealth.com (Special Thanks) has something to say about it:
“Testosterone has a critical role in metabolism,” says Abraham Morgentaler, MD, an associate clinical professor of urology at Harvard Medical School and director and founder of Men’s Health Boston. “Multiple studies have shown men with low testosterone have a higher percentage of body fat than men with higher testosterone.
A 2013 German observational study published in the journal Obesity found that weight loss was an added bonus for men with low testosterone who were taking testosterone replacement therapy. The men took testosterone supplements for five years and lost an average of 36 pounds and 3.5 inches off their waists.Source: https://www.everydayhealth.com/hs/low-testosterone-guide/low-testosterone-weight-management (Battle of the Bulge: Low T and Weight Management)
7: Sleep Problems
This one is my most favorite one among the list of “Signs of Low Testosterone Levels in a Man” and the reason behind is the vicious cycle in which not only the lack of testosterone is responsible for sleep deprivation but it goes all the way around as well. What? Yes! It’s like you find it hard to go to sleep due to your poor sleeping habits or insomnia and as you are unable to get 6-7 hours of sleep every night, this leads to a decrease in the amount of testosterone.
Sleep apnea reduces REM sleep and creates low testosterone—which, in turn, creates more sleep apnea.
It all starts with insomnia, being unable to sleep which then results in the increase in the production of cortisol hormone. Cortisol hormone is like another sword where only one sword can stay in the jacket and when Cortisol is there to stay, testosterone has to leave its place. So yeah, that’s how insomnia leads to low testosterone levels. And when you don’t sleep for like 6-7 hours every night, it leads to about 10-15% decrease in your testosterone levels and the circle continues and you end up getting dark circles. (24 Proven Ways a Man Can Look Younger Than His Age!). But wait! You need not worry about sleeping anymore because below are some tips that you can use to make sure that you are getting a good night’s sleep. Remember guys, it all starts from subtle lifestyle changes so, go ahead and try some.
- Don’t consume caffeine late in the day because the caffeine helps you wake up which means that it won’t let you sleep properly in the night. Hence, avoid caffeine in the evening or at night time.
- Increase bright light exposure during the day and reduce the blue light exposure in the evening/night. Put your phone aside and don’t use it when the lights of your room are switched off. Using the phone in the dark is gonna have a negative effect on your eyesight plus it is eating your sleep time as well. You must put all of your digital devices away at least 30 minutes before going to bed. I recommend that you put your phone on a table that is far away from your bed because I know that sometimes you want to grab your cellphone again and again. But if you place it far away then you will have to get up and reach the table to grab your cellphone. Getting up is actually a resistance and a barrier that is surely gonna help.
- Maintain room’s temperature at 60 – 67 degrees Fahrenheit because that’s considered to be ideal temperature. Lowering your body’s temperature before going to bed is proven to give you a baby sleep.
8: Decreased Energy Levels
So Yeah, if you find yourself laying here and there, wanting to do nothing and if you think of yourself as a worthless being who has nothing to do in his life then guess what? Ok, relax, you need to see all the above-given symptoms as well and if you have of these then Ahan, theirs something surely wrong in the machine that produces testosterone in your body because it ain’t producing the optimal amount of the hormone.
Gentlemen! Another sign of low testosterone level in a man includes “Laziness” which comes along with fatigue, decreased energy levels and lack of motivation as well. Looking for a simple way to cure this? Well, I have talked about this in detail in my article (13 Proven Techniques that can help you to boost your testosterone levels) but below are a few tips that you will definitely find handy (Just for the sake of this article):
- Eat a healthy diet that boosts testosterone (Cheese, Milk, Meat, Chicken Breast, Whole Egg (Yolk does the real job here), Tuna, Beef, Beans, Dry Fruits, Nuts (especially Peanuts), Grams, Bananas, Black Seeds, Lemon, oranges and other citrus fruits, Onion, DARK CHOCOLATE!, Fatty Fish, Oysters, Pomegranates, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Note that: (Consuming 75 Grams of Sugar Per day reduces testosterone levels by 25%)
- ASHWAGANDHA ——- A study was conducted in which men were given Ashwagandha and then their testosterone levels were observed. A dramatic 10-22% increase was seen. You know what? This herb is proven to increase sperm count by 167%. And the reason I love this herb so much is that it helps reduce your stress as well! Less stress means less “Cortisol” which ultimately means that you are gonna have more benefits of testosterone and for that reason, I recommend this herb to each and every one of you. The most appropriate method to take consume herb is by adding it to the glass filled with warm milk. You need to take this mixture 30-40 minutes before going to bed. That’s pretty much it!
Below are some exercises that are proven to increase your testosterone Levels.. All of these are compound muscle exercises such that they focus on more than one muscle… I recommend that you include these exercises in your everyday schedule, maybe in your warm up session because they are gonna make sure that your testosterone levels stay on point!

9: Mood Swings
Ok, so we are not only talking about staying depressed at times but it also includes, sudden anger, anxiety, depression, stress, and unexpected mood change as well. Gentlemen! We men weren’t born to experience mood swings and if you are experiencing them then you, my friend! have a problem going on with your testosterone levels.
And not just that, these mood swings can get so swear that you can’t even focus on something (Which you do to try to divert your mind from anger or sadness/depression. It may also result in irritability as well. It has been seen that men with high testosterone levels are very less seem to experience depression or lack of energy levels.
In short, low testosterone levels inside your body leads to a lack of motivation which then increases the amount of stress. What does that do? It will not let you sleep at night which will add up one more reason to reduce the number of testosterone levels in your body (as we discussed earlier that sleep deprivation leads to low testosterone levels). And this whole thing combines to reduce the amount of testosterone level even more which will then make these symptoms to show up even more prominently.
10: Hair Loss
We all have already agreed on this point that testosterone is responsible for hair growth along with tons of Other cool things that transform a guy into a man (and your boy Nyazi transforms a man into a Gentleman!). And what will happen when due to some reason the amount of testosterone level decreases in your body? Yeah, Hair Loss!
Guys! If you are have started to experience hair loss, your beard is coming patchy and you are 24 years old already while on the other hand your dad is rocking a thick beard and he has a head full of hair but yours is showing patches over there as well. Your family is doing just fine with respect to the hair health but it’s you who has to face all this. Well, guess what? Your testosterone levels are low as compared to the normal ones. Ok, wait, before going to any conclusion, think of your diet, are you eating healthy? Have you made any change to your diet due to which you believe you have started getting all of these problems? If everything is going good then your hormonal system isn’t. And you, my friend, need to get your testosterone levels checked ASAP.

Say No to Hot Showers
Mix Tobacco Leaves (Take it out of a Cigrette), Mustard Oil and Rosemary Oil. Massage your Scalp, especially the patchy areas.
11: Lack of Memory
Your brain’s memory centers are loaded with testosterone receptors and when your body lacks testosterone, it ultimately results in memory problems. And that’s how less amount of testosterone in your body means that now you are gonna find it hard to remember things. Ok, so you guys might be thinking that “Hey Nyazi, it could be the result of bad diet as well” (I will be writing an entire article on how to improve your memory as well) Guess what? I am here assuming that you haven’t changed your diet and the problem with your memory just started to happen, like suddenly, out of nowhere. And No, we aren’t just talking about memory loss. Lack of testosterone also affects men’s cognitive performance, reports the January 2008 issue of Harvard Men’s Health Watch.
Both testosterone levels and cognitive functions — particularly memory — decline with age. As a result, doctors have theorized that lower testosterone levels could contribute to affected memory. According to a research study published in the Journal of the American Medical AssociationTrusted Source, some smaller research studies have linked testosterone supplementation with improved memory in men with low levels. However, the study’s authors did not observe memory improvements in their study of 493 men with low testosterone levels who took testosterone or a placebo.Source: 12 Signs of Low Testosterone
12: Pain, Pain, and Pain
And Yes, I know that I have written the word pain three times in the article and I promise I haven’t written it by mistake. It’s because of the intensity of pain that you guys are gonna experience if you are also lacking with the amount of testosterone. I am talking about severe back pain which can make you stay on bed for about a week straight and those bone fractures as well as changes in Posture as well, all because of the lack of testosterone in your body.
Do you know what a long time lack of testosterone level is capable of doing? It might result in osteoporosis, a condition in which your bones become fragile. Ok, So the sex hormone called testosterone is responsible for bone density and when the hormone is less in amount then obviously it affects the bone density as well which then results in osteoporosis.
Maintaining bone density is important for preventing the loss of bone mass and possible fractures. Unlike joint pain, osteoporosis pain typically only occurs when you develop bone fractures. You may also experience back pain due to weakened vertebrae. Recovering from fractures can be painful. While this can feel similar to joint pain, osteoporosis pain isn’t the same as arthritis.Source: Joint Pain: Is Low Testosterone the Cause?
13: Hot Flashes
The next one in the list of “Signs of Low Testosterone Levels” includes, night sweats or hot flashes are where a person wakes up with clothes or sheets that are damp from sweating. Yeah, you know what I am talking about, right? Have you ever experienced that? Sure it can happen to anybody who is sleeping with tons of clothes on or when the room’s temperature is way too high but things start to get really interesting when the case is none of the above. For dudes, it’s because of the lack of a male sex hormone called testosterone. How? Let’s dig deep into it a little.
When testosterone levels are found to be inadequate, it leads to estrogen dominance. This kind of male hormonal imbalance leads to a host of debilitating symptoms, including night sweats. During this time, testosterone may also convert into estradiol due to an adverse reaction with the enzyme aromatase, which tends to be more plentiful in men with excess body fat. As it pertains to night sweats in men, low testosterone levels actually trick the hypothalamus of the brain into thinking that the body is overheated. Since the hypothalamus is responsible for regulating body temperature, the body then reacts to get rid of the excess heat that isn’t really there, resulting in night sweats. Night sweats are just one issue that can interrupt a good night’s sleep and lead to more serious issues like insomnia.Source: Night Sweats in Men
Some symptoms of hot flashes for you to identify if you are actually getting night sweats or it’s just because of high temperature or some other reason:
- Warm Skin.
- Redness of the Skin on the Face, Neck, and Chest.
- Sweating (Especially in the Upper Body).
- Tingling in your Fingers.
- Fast heartbeat.
- Remember that, I am not talking about those Sudden wakeups after seeing a horror Dream because that kinda also involves all of this stuff. In Hot Flashes, you wake up with all the same things but for no freaking reason.
14: Frequent Urination
I know that you drink lots of water per day (4 Litre of water per day is great), cool and I also know that lots of water mean lots of urination But! You need it You know what else won’t let you come out of your bathroom? Its “Testosterone Deficiency”. Yeah! Lack of your sex hormone is yet another cause why you can’t stay away from your bathroom for a long time. That right there is the reason for your strong bond with your toilet. (See for the other symptoms before coming to any decision. If you don’t experience any other symptom discussed above then chances are that the reason for frequent urination is something else. You might also wanna consult your doctor as well).
And with that being said, here I conclude today’s topic, “14 Signs of Low Testosterone in a Man (Under 30 Years Old)”. So what do you think about this list of “Signs of Low testosterone”?
